Welcome home!

FAITH - HOPE - LOVE

St. Andrew’s is for anyone who wants to explore and to express what it means to be a Christian and what it means to be a Church in today’s world.

St. Andrew’s offers a range of services on Sundays and on other days and occasions.

Some draw on the traditions and texts of the Church of England, both Common Worship and The Book of Common Prayer.

Others tend to be more informal and best described as “fresh expressions of church.”

Wherever possible services from the church building are livestreamed.

THIS MONTH

Messy Church

Messy Church is not currently meeting - look out for further announcements.

Messy Church is a form of church for children and adults that involves creativity, celebration and hospitality. Its aim is to introduce Jesus, to give an opportunity to encounter him and to grow closer to him. A typical session includes a welcome, a long creative time to explore a bible theme through ‘messy’ activities; a short celebration or worship time with a story, prayer, song, game etc; and a sit-down meal together at tables.

We begin at 4.30pm with registration and then about 50 minutes of creative activities and games for adults and children to enjoy together. At 5.20pm, (apart from those preparing the meal) we go through to the church for our worship time.  This is lively and interactive, but may also involve a few minutes of quiet listening to a story, drama or video. At 5.45pm we return to the Chapter House for our sit down meal, finishing at about 6.15pm.

There is no charge for attending Messy Church! It’s free!  But we do welcome donations to help with the cost of food and materials.
